On the 15th of September 2021, the “TP-NEA Refrigerant Recovery for Chiller” course was launched. The course is a collaborative effort between Temasek Polytechnic (TP), National Environment Agency (NEA) and various industry partners.
The course will cover the standard operating procedure in handling refrigerants in a typical chiller while taking environmental conservation into consideration.
“TP-NEA Refrigerant Handling for Chiller” course
The “TP-NEA Refrigerant Handling for Chiller” course is designed to help develop capabilities within the refrigeration and air-conditioning (RAC) industry, to perform proper handling of refrigerants during the installation, maintenance, and decommissioning works on water-cooled chillers.
Concurrently, the course aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by educating participants on the environmental impact of refrigerants. The course supports the Environmental Protection and Management (Amendment Bill), which was passed in the Singapore Parliament on 13 September 2021.
