Collaboration with ESCO to fight against COVID-19 (2020)
The fast-evolving global outbreak of the Corona Virus (COVID-19) upended our lives with widespread ramifications across the world. During this difficult time, our customer – ESCO MICRO Pte Ltd, a manufacturer of Life science, Medical and Pharmaceutical equipment, has been actively supporting global efforts to tackle the virus. ebm-papst collaborated with ESCO to swiftly deliver ebm-papst fans that were used to develop biosafety cabinets.
Supporter of the President's Challenge (2020)
Initiated by former President S R Nathan in 2000, the President’s Challenge symbolises the gathering of people from all walks of life to help the less fortunate. In 2020, the tagline for the President’s Challenge is ‘Empowering Lives, Uplifting Communities’. Due to the pandemic, 2020 is a difficult year for everyone. This makes it even more important to offer support to those who are in need. Vulnerable groups, such as children with special needs, persons with disabilities, healthcare and families and elderly in need will benefit from donations to the President’s Challenge.
Pledged to 'Green the Red Dot' on Eco Action Day (2020)
Eco Action Day is an annual nationwide campaign in Singapore encouraging awareness and action for the environment. It is held on 5 June every year in commemoration of the United Nations Environment Programme’s World Environment Day. Over the years, it has grown to be an established platform for organisations and individuals to pledge environmental actions.
In 2020, ebm-papst SEA has participated in Eco Action Day. We have pledged to implement green practices, thereby minimising carbon emissions to combat climate change and make Singapore greener.
Sponsorship of ASHRAE's Student Membership Programme (2018 - 2020)
The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) is an American professional association seeking to advance heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems design and construction. ebm-papst SEA sponsors the student membership for the local chapter, enabling students to delve deeper into the industry in a number of ways.
Sponsored the Charity Golf Event by The New Charis Mission (2019)
The New Charis Mission (TNCM) provides social services to nurture the youth, care for the elderly and help ex-offenders and their families. Through the Charity Golf & Dinner in 2019, TNCM hoped to raise funds that will be used to support these vulnerable groups in 2019/2020. ebm-papst was a supporting sponsor for this event.
Sponsored Laboratories in Educational Institutions (2018-2019)
In ebm-papst SEA, we always have a vision of inspiring the next generation of student innovators and industry leaders. With this vision, we fully sponsored and set up a lab at Building and Construction Authority (BCA) Academy in 2018. A similar lab was set up in Singapore Polytechnic in 2019.
As a government-affiliated education and research arm of BCA Singapore, BCA Academy facilitates education, training and research within the building and construction industry in Singapore.
In line with BCA Academy’s training pedagogy of combining on-campus learning and experiential learning of the training facilities, ebm-papst lab was designed to help students develop a stronger understanding of high-efficiency cooling solutions. A range of interactive displays demonstrates the capacity of electronically commutated (EC) motors comparative to traditional AC motors for increased air output, reduced energy consumption and quieter motor noise. Information on air movement, such as the difference between centrifugal and axial fans, is also included.
The lab at the BCA academy was first opened to students and visitors of the academy in early 2018 and is used as a demonstrative part of the curriculum since then.
On 18th April 2019, ebm-papst SEA hosted an event which pioneers the education of EC technology. Our group of esteemed guests include distinguished representatives from industrial partners and educators from tertiary education organisations.
The event commenced with a welcome speech by our Managing Director, Mr. Coleman Lim. This was swiftly followed by a presentation on EC fan technology by our Product Strategy Manager, Mr. Rickie Chua.
After the presentation, we gave our guests a hands-on experience by taking them around our showroom and working lab. Mr. Rickie Chua, Mr. Trevis Tan (Application Manager) and Mr. Hiew Chung Ka (Field Application Engineer) led the tour. The tour features close-ups of displays in the showroom (e.g. Fan Coil Units, Air Handling Units, RadiCal Simulation) and demo units (e.g. Fan Grid with 4 RadiPac EC Fans and HMI Touchpad).
The event was concluded with a visit to the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) Academy, where the attendees toured the ebm-papst lab.
Provided Industry Engagement for Republic Polytechnic Students (2018-2019)
ebm-papst SEA invited students from Republic Polytechnic to the company’s showroom and lab so that they can get a close-up of fan technologies that are being used in the society. By visiting our premises, the students were given an educational experience that they would not have acquired through textbooks in schools. We hope such initiatives would demonstrate the value of innovation.
A Participating Enterprise in Children's Society's Initiatives (2012 - 2018)
Singapore Children’s Society protects and nurtures children and youth of all races and religions. For several years, ebm-papst SEA supported the Children’s Society’s mission to bring relief and happiness to children in need.
